Childcare services at Bochum's municipal schools
What information is available on this?
At five Grundschulen, instruction and supervision are offered on a rotating basis throughout the school day (until approximately 4:00 p.m.) (rotating full-day program).
The following after-school care options are available at public schools:
Open All-Day School (OGS)
A Reliable Grundschule
A Reliable Grundschule Plus After-School Care During School Breaks
Educational Afternoon Care
The childcare contract is entered into with the provider under private law. The school administration, together with the local provider, decides whether to admit a child to the respective childcare program.
An income-based parental fee is required to participate in childcare services. The amount of the parental fees is determined by the City of Bochum’s ordinance on the collection of parental fees for the use of services in daycare centers, family day care, and after-school care programs (Parental Fee Ordinance), as amended from time to time.
Counseling and informational sessions can be held at schools as needed.
